Fixing an Epson Printer Stuck in 'Offline' Status
An 'offline' status on your computer doesn't always mean the printer itself is disconnected — often it's your computer's saved printer profile that's out of sync.
Symptoms to look for
Computer shows the printer as offline despite it being powered on
Print jobs stack up in the queue without printing
Printer works fine when tested directly from its own panel
What causes it
A stale IP address saved in your computer's printer settings, a paused print queue, or the printer actually being in sleep mode are the most common causes.
How to fix it
On your computer, open printer settings and ensure 'Use Printer Offline' is unchecked.
Clear any stuck jobs from the print queue and restart the print spooler service.
Confirm the printer's IP address hasn't changed (compare to what's saved on your computer).
Wake the printer manually and print a test page from its panel.
If needed, remove and re-add the printer on your computer using its current network address.
Technician's tip
If the printer only goes offline after periods of inactivity, disable aggressive network sleep settings in the printer's power management menu.
