Solving Paper Feed & Multi-Feed Issues on Epson Printers

Feed errors on higher-volume Epson models are almost always tray or roller related rather than an internal sensor fault.

Symptoms to look for

• Multiple sheets pull through at once
• Printer reports 'no paper' with paper clearly loaded
• Feed errors worsen with certain paper types

What causes it

Static cling between sheets, an overfilled tray, or worn separation pads (the small friction pad that peels off one sheet at a time) are the leading causes.

How to fix it

1. Remove the full stack and fan the edges to release static and separate sheets.
2. Reload well under the tray's fill line.
3. Check the separation pad for visible wear or a glossy, smooth surface.
4. Adjust the paper-width guides so they're snug but not compressing the stack.
5. If multi-feeds continue with a fanned, correctly loaded stack, the separation pad needs replacing.
