Why Epson Borderless Prints Come Out With Margins

Borderless printing failures are almost always a settings mismatch between your paper size, print dialog, and the printer's own margin data — not a hardware limitation.

Symptoms to look for

• Photos print with a thin white border despite selecting borderless
• Printer shows a paper size error when borderless is selected
• Edges of the image appear cropped too aggressively

What causes it

Selecting the wrong exact paper size (borderless requires exact matches, not 'similar' sizes), or outdated printer drivers that don't include current borderless paper profiles, are the top causes.

How to fix it

1. Confirm the paper size selected in the print dialog exactly matches the paper loaded (e.g. 4x6 borderless, not standard 4x6).
2. Update your printer driver to the latest version for full borderless profile support.
3. In the print dialog, explicitly select 'Borderless' rather than relying on default settings.
4. For photos, use Epson's own print software rather than a generic OS print dialog when possible.
5. If cropping is too aggressive, adjust the borderless expansion amount in advanced print settings.
